Offshore Wind and Transmission Forum

The offshore wind industry has a tremendous opportunity to contribute to baseline renewable energy targets across Europe. Recent reports estimate that almost 25% of European electricity demand could come from about 3% of the North Sea. There are many challenges to overcome on the path to achieving an industry of scale including: stable and regional policy, transmission access, costs, technology, maritime services, skill shortages and this two day (27-28 May 2009) executive forum in Brussels will look at key areas with a special focus on transmission.
